Family Tutoring Alliance is a scholarship granting organization (SGO) dedicated to providing direct-to-family tutoring scholarships to students in public schools.

Mission: Nurture a national ecosystem of high-quality afterschool tutoring that is free to families to access.

Vision: The family of any struggling student in public school can quickly receive a tutoring scholarship and begin receiving services from a proven tutoring provider.

A Unique SGO

Family Tutoring Alliance is distinct from traditional SGOs in 4 principal ways:

• A focus exclusively on public school students

• A specialized focus on tutoring (the most effective academic intervention that’s been studied)

• An emphasis on accountability for providers of tutoring services

• A dedication to research and developing an evidence base for effective implementation practice

Assembling the Alliance

We are currently building an alliance of community partners and tutoring providers so that we can quickly collect donations and award scholarships when the program opens on January 1, 2027. Partners include:

• Schools & Districts

• Businesses

• Local governments

• Community organizations

• CPA and other professional associations

• Tutoring providers

Family Tutoring Alliance will be an approved SGO partner in all states that opt-in to the Education Freedom Tax Credit.
